His publications include the monograph Mutual Accompaniment as Faith-Filled Living: Recognition of the Vulnerable Other (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022), as well as a forthcoming book under contract with Routledge, Ecological Accompaniment in an Age of Loneliness: New Landscapes in Practical Theology, expected in 2025.
In 2021, Professor Ryan was co-awarded a grant from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to integrate science into the curriculum at Regis College. Building on this initiative, he secured an additional AAAS grant in 2024 to explore the intersection of climate change and theological education.
