Raquel Andrade Weiss is a PhD in Philosophy from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a professor in the Department of Sociology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Currently, she is a visiting scholar at Humboldt University in Berlin, supported by the CAPES-Humboldt Foundation Fellowship for Experienced Researchers. She also serves as the director of the Brazilian Center for Durkheimian Studies. Her research focuses on sociological theory and the sociology of morality. In 2023, she was a visiting professor at Sapienza University of Rome and ICSOR. In recent years, her work has increasingly explored topics such as the crisis and transformation of sociology, critical theory, gender, spirituality, solidarity, and Amerindian thought.
